The AICPA Blueprints Turn 4 Years Old

What are the AICPA Blueprints?

Unfortunately, almost nobody knows about these little guys. College professors certainly don’t. I guess they figure the CPA candidates will learn about the blueprints when they take a CPA review course. Well, guess what, most CPA review courses rarely, if ever, even mention the blueprints!

Our Commitment To Our Students

The AICPA announced in 2015 that they were changing the testing focus of the exam from Content Specifications to Blueprints. The change would become effective on January 1, 2017. But no one seemed to be paying attention to this. They didn’t seem to care.

But I did. I went to every CPA Providers semi-annual meeting to learn as much as I could about these new blueprints. I spent the next two years focused on writing our own Yaeger CPA Review textbooks in preparation for the new exam content testing.

It was like we took a blank sheet of paper, overlayed the blueprints on top, and then wrote our books around the blueprints. I made sure we covered every single blueprint, with detailed explanations and multiple choice practice questions.

I was not surprised that no other CPA review course chose to include anything about the blueprints in any of their study materials. Adding the blueprints to existing study materials is expensive and very time-consuming.

Their failure to provide candidates with study materials 100% focused on teaching based on the blueprints puts an unnecessary burden on the CPA candidate.

What Do You Need To Pass?

You need two things to pass this exam – the right material to study from, and the commitment to put in the time to study.

Yaeger CPA Review will handle the former. You, the candidate, must handle the latter.
